Working on AI & Tech Startups

AI is a tool. What matters is what we choose to build with it — and whether those products actually make people's lives better.

I don't want to work on AI simply because AI is the next big thing.

To me, AI is ultimately a tool. What matters is what we choose to build with it—and whether those products actually make people's lives better.

That is what draws me to the application layer of AI.

I'm interested in turning increasingly powerful models into products that ordinary people can actually use: products that save time, remove friction, help people make better decisions, or allow them to do things that previously required much more money, knowledge, or effort.

This is also why I'm drawn to startups. New technology becomes meaningful when someone takes it out of the lab, understands a real human problem, and builds something people genuinely want to use.

After years of building OMNIAPATH and Wov3, I've moved back to the Bay Area and stepped away from their day-to-day operations while remaining involved as Chairman.

My next chapter is about working closer to technology and learning how great AI products go from capability → product → adoption → real-world impact.

AI is the tool. Building something genuinely useful with it is what I care about.
